Estradot (Oestradiol) Tweet
What is Estradot (Oestradiol) used for? Estradot (Oestradiol) is an HRT medication (hormone replacement therapy) it is used by women to help manage symptoms associated with menopause. It reduces the severity of symptoms like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, sweats, chills, unusual uterine bleeding, as well as helping to prevent osteoporosis. Estradot works by releasing additional estrogen into the patient's system to compensate for the reduced estrogen production which menopausal women experience. How should I use Estradot (Oestradiol)? Always use as prescribed and instructed by your physician. Patches are usually administered twice a week, on the same days each week. The best areas of the body to apply patches to are the hips, buttocks, and lower abdomen. It is strongly advised that you alternate application locations, never applying to the same area of skin two consecutive times. Never apply to any cut, broken, or damaged skin, and avoid applying near to the breasts. To apply, first wash and dry the skin where you wish to apply the patch. Then remove the new patch from its packaging without touching the adhesive, press the patch down on your skin with the adhesive side down for roughly 10 seconds, and lastly check the edges of the patch are properly secured to the skin. Once applied, you may swim, bathe, shower, and wash as normal. Please note, however, that excessive steam or sweat can loosen the patch's adhesive. When replacing a patch, dispose of the used one carefully, folding it and ensuring it is out of reach of children and any household pets. What are the side effects of Estradot (Oestradiol)?
