Peptisoothe Oral Liq (Ranitidine Hydrochloride) Tweet
How does Peptisoothe Oral Liquid Syrup (Ranitidine HCL) work: Peptisoothe Oral Liquid Syrup (Ranitidine HCL) is indicated for the treatment of duodenal ulcer including that associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents and the prevention of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (including aspirin) associated duodenal ulcers in patients with a history of duodenal ulceration proven by endoscopy. Peptisoothe is also used in the treatment of post-operative ulcer, oesophageal reflux disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, chronic episodic dyspepsia, etc. The active ingredient of Peptisoothe, Ranitidine, is a rapidly acting histamine H2-antagonist. Ranitidine works by inhibiting basal and stimulated secretion of gastric acid, reducing both the volume and the acid and pepsin content of the secretion. Ranitidine has a relatively long duration of action and so a single 150mg dose effectively suppresses gastric acid secretion for 12 hours. Dosage & Administration: - Adults: Duodenal Ulcer and Benign Gastric Ulcer: NSAID Associated Peptic Ulceration: Postoperative Ulcer: Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease: Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Chronic Episodic Dyspepsia: Prophylaxis of Mendelson`s Syndrome: Prophylaxis of Haemorrhage from Stress Ulceration or from Peptic Ulceration: - Children: Use with Peptisoothe (Ranitidine) in children has not been fully evaluated in clinical studies. However, it has been used successfully in children aged 8-18 years in doses up to 150mg twice a day. Side Effects:
Precautions: The possibility of malignancy should be excluded before commencement of therapy in patients with gastric ulcer as treatment with Peptisoothe may mask symptoms of gastric carcinoma. Peptisoothe is excreted via the kidney and so plasma levels of the drug are increased in patients with severe renal impairment. Regular supervision of patients who are taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs concomitantly with Peptisoothe is recommended, especially in the elderly and in those with a history of peptic ulcer.
