How does it work: Kelo-Cote Scar Gel is a silicone based gel used topically to improve the appearance of scars, flattening, softening, and smoothing scar tissue. It is also effective in relieving the associated side effects such as itchiness, irritation, pain, and general discomfort. It can be used for various forms of scars including those as a result of surgery, burns, pregnany, trauma, and hypertrophic keloid scars. Kelo-Cote Scar Gel is self-drying, transparent, odorless, and when applied it leaves a thin, flexible, breathable, and even waterproof layer of protection which lasts for roughly 12 hours. Dosing will vary depending on the patient, but typically you will be instructed to apply the gel twice a day in the mornings and the evenings, spaced 12 hours apart to keep a consistent layer of protection over the affected skin. However if you do experience and adverse effects whatsoever which are bothersome, persistent, or worsen in severity, inform your physician as soon as possible.
