How does Flonida (Fluorouracil) work:

Flonida (Fluorouracil) commonly is used to treat the early signs of skin cancer (actinic keratoses) which usually appears in the face, forearms and neck. Therefore it is an anti-cancer drug (cytotoxic antimetabolites) which is designed in the form of a cream. Further Fluorouracil or 5-FU is recently an established wrinkle eraser, which supports the patient's skin in looking younger.

Fluorouracil, belongs to the group of anti-cancer medicines which are also known under the name cytotoxic antimetabolites. It works through interference with DNA synthesis. Cancer forms due to uncontrollable and abnormal cell multiplication. These cells then spread and destroy nearby tissues. Fluorouracil is able to slow down these actions by decelerate this kind of processes. In conclusion fluorouracil destroys the cancer cells through attachment to chemicals inside the cell and thus is preventing it from using vital nutrients and other certain substances required for their normal activity.

Dosage & Administration:

With the help of a piece of cotton or a cotton swab administer a thin layer of Flonida cream over the wished area. Make sure to apply each time enough cream on the effected parts as advised by your physician. In case you use the cream with the help of the fingertips do not forget to wash your hands immediately for the prevention of eyes- and mouth contact.

Side Effects:

Flonida most commonly is very well tolerated. But like it is with any other drug, there are some side effects aligned with Flonida. You may not experience any of those. Precautions:

• More important to bear in mind is try to avoid eye contact during the application of flonida, because it may cause irritation to sensitive skin and eyes. Further, please avoid the use of cosmetics on the treated area. Please discuss with your physician in case you have questions regarding this.
• In addition it is important to keep in mind to stay away from direct sunlight! (mainly between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.) If manageable the wearing of protective items such as sunglasses, heads and protective clothes is advised.
• In addition always use a sunblocker (SPF 15) during the period of treatment with Flonida.
• Please do not take the application of Flonida into consideration if you are allergic to the active agent fluorouracil.

Further Advice:

The Application of Flonida during pregnancy and during the lactation period is not recommend.

Further Information:

Keep Flonida in a cool dry place where the temperature stays below 30C. Do not freeze the product. Secure the tube after usage.
