Therefore it is an anti-cancer drug which is designed in the form of a cream. The drug belongs to the drugs that are called cytotoxic antimetabolites. It works by interfering with the growth of abnormal cells which are eventually destroyed. This medicine has been accepted to be a highly effective item in slowing down this process. Further Efudix is an established wrinkle eraser, which supports the patient’s skin in looking younger. Ever since Efudix has a reputation for its anti-ageing properties. Dosage & Administration Information: Administer a thin layer of Efudix- Cream over your affected area. Be aware that the entire area of the skin being treated should not exceed the size of 500cm². Also larger areas should be always treated in stages. Generally a dressing is not needed, when you have a solar and/ or senile keratoses. Although other conditions like the keratosis palmaris, may need a tight dressing. Usually a therapy with Efudix takes 3-4 weeks. The active agent of Efudix, Fluorouracil, belongs to the group of anti-cancer medicines which are also known under the name 'cytotoxic antimetabolites'. Cancer develops due to uncontrollable and abnormal cell multiplication. Then these cells spread and destroy nearby tissues. Fluorouracil is able to slow down these actions by decelerate this process. In conclusion fluorouracil destroys the cancer cells through attachment to a certain chemical inside the cell and thus is preventing it from using vital nutrients and other certain substances required for normal activity.
