How does it work:

Daivonex is an anti-psoriasis medicine which contains calcipotriol. It is used on skin affected by psoriasis, which is a skin disorder in which skin cells are overactive. The calcipotriol in Daivonex treats the overactive skin cells.

Daivonex is used in the commonest type of psoriasis, where 'plaques' form in the skin. Daivonex preparations are available as ointment, cream and scalp solution.

Dosage & Administration:

Daivonex preparations are available only with a physician`s prescription.

Adults (cream and ointment):
- Do not use more than 100g in one week.
- Continue to use for as long as your physician tells you.

Adults (scalp solution):
- Do not use more than 60mL in one week.
- Continue to use for as long as your physician tells you.

Children (ointment only):
- Over 12 years old: Do not use more than 75g in one week.
- 6-12 years old: Do not use more than 50g in one week.
- Under 6 years old: Follow your physician`s instructions.
- Do not use for more than 8 weeks.

Side Effects:

Tell your physician or pharmacist if you notice any of the following and they worry you:

• skin irritation (including rashes or peeling)
• a rash on your face
• a change in the colour of your skin
• your skin is more sensitive to light

Precautions:

Tell your physician if you have a known allergy to Daivonex or have kidney or liver problems. Always inform your physician if you are pregnant, breast-feeding or intend to breast-feed.
