How does Locoid Lipocream (Hydrocortisone Butyrate) work: Locoid Lipocream (Hydrocortisone Butyrate) is a corticosteroid (steroid) cream used topically to treat a variety of different skin conditions. It helps the patient alleviate symptoms such as itchy skin, sore skin, swelling, and red skin. Dosage & Administration: Always follow the instructions of your physician for applying the cream, the amount to use, and the frequency you should apply it for your condition. The cream is for external use only. Avoid applying too close to the eyes, nose mouth, or any broken skin, cuts, burns, or wounds of any kind. To apply, first clean and then dry both your hands and the area you will treat, then simply massage a small amount of the cream into affected skin.
