How does Locoid-C Cream (Hydrocortisone Butyrate) work: Locoid-C Cream contains the active ingredient, Hydrocortisone Butyrate, which belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. Chlorquinaldol is an antiseptic. Locoid-C Cream is used on the skin to relieve the redness, swelling, itching and discomfort of certain skin conditions, where these are complicated by those secondary bacterial or fungal infections that can be treated with chlorquinaldol or when such infections are to be prevented. The skin conditions are psoriasis, eczema, and other types of dermatitis. Dosage & Administration: Follow all directions given to you by your physician or pharmacist carefully. Locoid-C should be applied to the affected parts 2 to 4 times daily, or as directed by your physician. Use your medicine at about the same time each day. If you have accidentally applied too much of the cream, wipe off the excess with clean paper tissue. If you do not understand the instructions, ask your physician or pharmacist for help. Precautions: Before you start to use Locoid-C, tell your physician if you have any skin disorders or skin infections, allergy to Locoid-C or any other medicines or any other substances, such as foods, preservatives or dyes, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Your physician can discuss with you the risks and benefits involved. Do not use this medicine just before having a bath, shower or going swimming. If you do, you may reduce the effectiveness of Locoid-C.
