How does Adapen Gel (Adapalene) work: Adapen Gel is used primarily to manage acne. It reduces the severity of pimples and enables patient's skin to heal and refresh. The drug belongs to a group called retinoids and it works by encouraging faster skin cell replacement, as well as reducing inflammation and swelling. This action makes the skin appear fresher. Dosage & Administration: Do not apply near to the eyes, lips, or nose, or on any skin which is cut, burnt, or broken in any way. The following steps are given only as a general guideline. Always follow the instructions of your physician.
Under normal circumstances the gel is applied once a day, shortly before bedtime. It can take 8 to 12 weeks to see the positive effects of using the gel. This is because its greatest benefits are in preventing new pimples in their formative stages, whereas it does not treat existing pimples to the same extent. Side Effects: The most common side effects patients may suffer from include those below. Inform your physician if any persist or worse.

Do not apply to any cut, broken, or burned skin, or near to your eyes, lips, nose, or ears. Disclose the following to your physician:
Avoid direct exposure to the sun, as well as all use of sun lamps or sun beds. If exposure to the sun is unavoidable wear protective clothing as much as possible and make use of high factor sun screen. While using Adapen Gel you should also avoid waxing, electrolysis, and all chemical depilatories on the areas treated.
