What is Protektor Spot-On (Fipronil) used for?

Protektor (Fipronil) is a treatment against flea infestation in dogs. It is a topical medication used to both prevent infestations, and control existing ones. It also helps to manage paralysis tick, brown dog tick and biting lice. Protektor is suitable for both adult dogs and puppies.

How should I use Protektor Spot-On (Fipronil)?

Ensure you always follow any instructions your vet has given you when using Protektor. Alternatively, follow the instructions supplied within the packaging. Protektor is usually applied to the skin between the dog's should blades as it is the best way to prevent your dog licking the applied liquid. the medication is most commonly applied once a month, the dosage amount however will vary depending on your dog's weight.

To apply, hold the pipette upright, snap off the end, and pour the liquid directly onto your dog's skin between the shoulder blades, holding the hair apart so it can be applied directly onto the skin.

Protektor is for external use only. Seek immediate medical attention from a vet if your dog accidentally swallows any of the liquid. Too much liquid may result in sticky hair which should return to normal within a couple of days.

What are the side effects of Protektor Spot-On (Fipronil)?

Protektor's side effects are very rare. Despite this you should still report any effects which do occur to your vet promptly.
