How does Duphaston work?
Duphaston contains Dydrogesterone, a synthetic hormone similar to progesterone. Progesterone is the hormone which helps to develop a healthy womb lining. Duphaston is used for many menstrual disorders that may result from a lack of progesterone in the body.
Usage:
Treatment of progesterone deficiencies such as:
- Dysmenorrhoea
- Endometriosis
- Amenorrhoea
- Irregular cycles
- Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
- Pre-menstrual syndrome
- Treatment of threatened and habitual absorption, associated with proven progesterone deficiency
- Treatment of infertility due to luteal insufficiency
Side Effects:
- gastro-intestinal disturbances
- allergic skin rashes or urticaria
- changes in libido
- acne
- fluid retention
- Mass gain
- Mental depression
- Breast changes, which may include discomfort or gynaecomastia
Stop taking Duphaston and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives)
