How does Torfix (Rifaximin) work: Torfix (Rifaximin) is an antibiotic helps to combat intestinal infections such as travelers' diarrhea caused by the E coli bacteria. Torfix works by passing though your stomach and intestines without absorbing into your blood stream. Dosage & Administration: The dose will depend on your condition. Take exactly as prescribed by your physician, either with or without food. Tell your physician if your symptoms do not begin to improve or get worse within 24 hours. Never take a double dose to make up for the one you missed. Side Effects:
Precautions: Tell your physician if you have allergies to Torfix (Rifaximin), any food or preservatives, you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. Torfix may make you sleepy when you first start taking it. Do not drive a car or operate heavy machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
