How does Oflox (Ofloxacin) work:

Oflox (Ofloxacin) is used to treat lung, skin, and urinary tract infections caused by bacteria. The active ingredient, Ofloxacin, belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Oflox treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections such as cold or flu.

Dosage & Administration:

Take Oflox (Ofloxacin) exactly as it has been prescribed by your physician. Follow your physician`s directions carefully.

Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis:
The normal dosage is 800mg per day divided in two doses. It should be continued for 10 consecutive days.

Nongonococcal cervicitis / urethritis:
The normal dosage is 600mg per day in two divided doses. It should be administered for 7 days continuously.

Uncomplicated cystitis:
The normal dosage is 200mg twice a day. It should be continued for 3 consecutive days.

Oflox tablets can be taken with a full glass of water after food or empty stomach but it should be at the same time every day.

Precautions:

Before taking Oflox, tell your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to Ofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics.

Before using this medication, tell your physician or pharmacist your medical history, especially seizure disorder, conditions that increase your risk of seizures, nervous system disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, joint/tendon problems.
