How does Nizoral (Ketoconazole) work: Nizoral Tablets (Ketoconazole) belongs to a class of drugs known as the imidazoles. It is used in the treatment of fungal infections by interfering with their growth and repair mechanisms. Ketoconazole inhibits the production of a chemical called ergosterol, which is a component of the fungal cell wall. Damage to this wall cannot be repaired and this interferes with the cell's ability to reproduce. Nizoral Tablets is used in the treatment of a number of different types of serious fungal infections, including those of the gut, skin and nails. Dosage & Administration: Do not take indigestion remedies at the same time of day as this medication. Take at regular intervals. Complete the prescribed course unless otherwise directed. Precautions: Nizoral Tablets should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your physician or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.
