Duprost (Dutasteride) Tweet
How does Duprost (Dutasteride) work: Duprost (Dutasteride) is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. Prostate growth is caused by a hormone in the blood called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Dutasteride inhibits both type I and type II 5-alpha-reductase, and therefore has a greater potential of stopping the formation of DHT, the hormone responsible for androgenic alopecia commonly referred to as male pattern baldness. Prostate growth is caused by a hormone in the blood called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Dutasteride lowers DHT production in the body, creating a reduction of the enlarged prostate. Over a certain period of time prostate usually grows. The reduction of the size of an enlarged prostate and the improvement of its symptoms will usually take some time as well. Some men observe less discomforts after around three months dutasteride treatment. Normally around six months are necessary to have overview over the workability of Dutasteride.
