Careprost are drops which contain the active ingredient bimatoprost. They are usually used to treat glaucoma by lowering the pressure within the eyeball. But next to this bimatoprost is a very efficiant product for the treatment of hypotrichosis, which is better known as short eyelashes occurence. Careprost (also known as Lumigan) helps this shortcoming by increasing the thickness, length and quantity of the eyelashes. The result: beautiful and long eyelashes.

Dosage & Administration Information:

Use Careprost eye drops once daily. The dosage one should apply is commonly one drop into the affected eye. The dosage of Careprost eye drops should never be more than one drop daily! The reason is, it has been proven that too much bimatoprost in the eyes will decrease the intraocular pressure lowering effect. The reduction of the intraocular pressure begins around 3-5 hours after the first usage of Careprost. Careprost eye drops are very well compatible with similar products, which are able to lower intraocular pressure. In case you do use more than one topical ophthalmic medication at the same time, it should be kept in mind, that the different products have to be administered at least five minutes apart from each other.

Administration for the eyelashes:

Administer one drop of Careprost on a one way- applicator brush and draw along the upper eyelid lash line. In case parts of the drop dripped beyond your upper eyelid, carefully wipe it away. Bear in mind not to apply Careprost to the lower lash line.
You may use one drop per eye daily till your favoured lash length is reached. Normally you will be able to recognize first results after eight weeks. The desired length will be finally visible after 14 to 16 weeks. Continue applying Careprost once a week from the time on your wished lash length is achieved. If you want to avoid that your eyelashes relapse to their habitual growth patterns, this weekly treatment will be necessary.

How does Careprost work:

Careprost’s generic bimatoprost belongs to the family of prostaglandins.
They are part of a group of natural body chemicals in the body. Prostaglandins operate by opening trabecular meshworks (channels), which are responsible for the drainage fluid (aqueous humour) from the eye and thereby are able to help the unnecessary eye fluid to drain from the eye more easily. Through this method of reduction of the eye pressure, Careprost is able to stop possible optic nerve damages, which is usually created by a high pressure on the eyes.
