Rogaine (Minoxidil) Tweet
How does Rogaine (Minoxidil) Topical Solution work: Rogaine (Minoxidil) is used in the treatment for Male Pattern Hairloss. It is a topical application and the active ingredient Minoxidil works on hair growth by revitalizing shrunken hair follicles, increasing their size and growth capabilities. Like any hairloss product, Rogaine (Minoxidil) takes time to work and requires prolonged usage to see any results. Rogaine (Minoxidil) is made available in three ways: foam, liquid and a gel. All involve contact with hair strands, which may cause problems with hair styling since Rogaine must be in an alcohol solution. To keep Rogaine from affecting normal hair styling applications, it can be washed out after at least 40 minutes, although this will decrease the hair regrowth effect. For maximum effect, Rogaine should be in contact with the scalp for four hours before being washed out. If the solution is not a problem, hair styling devices can be used as soon as the minoxidil solution has dried. Dosage & Administration: The recommended dosage is 1 ml applied twice daily to thinning areas of the scalp. Side Effects:
Precautions: Avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes or broken skin. If accidental contact occurs, wash with plenty of cool water. Avoid inhalation of the spray mist. If using hair styling products or a hairdryer, apply the minoxidil first and wait until it has dried before using the styling product. Do not use minoxidil on other parts of the body. Avoid shampoos and conditioners containing silicone compounds as these can coat the scalp, preventing contact with minoxidil.
