Lonitab (Minoxidil) Tweet
How does Lonitab (Minoxidil) work: Lonitab (Minoxidil) is a medicine prescribed for lowering high blood pressure in patients who show no response to other treatment. It works by relaxing the blood vessels as a result blood flows more unreservedly and at a lower pressure through dilated blood vessels. Dosage & Administration: Take Lonitab as directed by your physician or healthcare professional. The recommended initial dosage for patients over 12 years of age is 5mg once a day. The dose can be increased to 10mg, 20mg and then to 40mg in single or divided doses as prescribed by physician. Children under 12 years of age can take initial dosage of 0.2mg/kg once a day. Please note the maximum dosage should not be more than 50mg daily. If there is a decrease in supine diastolic pressure less than 30mm Hg, Lonitab may be administered only once a day. If supine diastolic pressure reduction is more than 30mm Hg, the daily dosage must be divided into 2 equal parts. Lonitab must be used together with a diuretic in patients depending on renal function for maintaining salt and water balance. Side Effects:
