What is Pletoz (Cilostazol) used for?

Pletoz (Cilostazol) is used to treat and improve symptoms of blood flow problems in the legs, such as intermittent claudication. Too little oxygen reaching the muscles can cause claudication pain in the muscles and can cause cramps during exercise or walking. This drug is a vasodilator and an anti-platelet, which helps to increase blood flow and oxygen to the muscles by widening blood vessels in the legs.

How should I use Pletoz (Cilostazol)?

Pletoz (Cilostazol) comes in the form of tablets, which are taken by mouth, normally twice per day. You should take them without food, at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after eating breakfast and dinner. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while you are taking this medication, as this can increase the risk of side effects. Some patients may notice an improvement in their condition within 2 to 4 weeks, whereas other patients may need to wait up to 12 weeks before an improvement is noticed.

What are the side effects of Pletoz (Cilostazol)?

Some patients may notice side effects when taking Pletoz (Cilostazol), such as:

• Runny nose
• Heartburn
• Stomach pain
• Pain in the muscles
