How does Flixotide work?
Flixotide is a corteosteroid that reduces the swelling of the air passages, making breathing easier. Flixotide is a preventative drug and must be taken regularly to be effective—it cannot be used for acute attacks.
Use:
Flixotide is used to prevent the symptoms of asthma.
- Shake the inhaler well for 15 seconds immediately before each use.
- Open your Accuhaler, hold the outer case in one hand and put the thumb of your other hand on the thumbgrip. Push your thumb away from you as far as it will go.
- Hold your accuhaler with the mouthpiece towards you. Slide the from you, as far as it will go - until it clicks.
- Hold the Accuhaler away from your mouth. Breathe out as far as is comfortable. Remember never breathe into you Accuhaler.
- Put the mouthpiece to your lips. Breathe in steadily and deeply - through the Accuhaler, not through your noese.
- Remove the Accuhaler from your mouth and Hold your breath for about 10 seconds.
- To close your Accuhaler, put your thumb in the thumbgrip, and slide the thumbgrip back towards you, as far as it will go.
- If you have been instructed to take two inhalations you must close the Accuhaler and repeat stages 1 to 4.
