How does Relitil (Chlorpromazine) work: Relitil (Chlorpromazine) is used to treat schizophrenia. It helps to relieve symptoms common in schizophrenia, such as distorted thinking and emotional instability. It is also used on its own or together with other medicines for the treatment of a dysfunctional mood condition called bipolar disorder. Relitil is also used to treat other conditions such as severe nausea and vomiting, severe hiccups that cannot be stopped, anxiety or nervousness before surgery, and irritability or aggressiveness in children with autism. Dosage & Administration: Take Relitil exactly as directed by your physician. Do not take more or less than instructed by your physician. Relitil may be taken with or without food. Take it with food if it upsets your stomach. Try to take Relitil regularly and at the same time everyday. Do not stop taking Relitil unless your physician has directed you to do so. If it is stopped suddenly, your condition may worsen. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at your normal dosing schedule. Do not double a dose under any circumstances. If you often forget to take your medicine, tell your physician and pharmacist. Always keep your appointments with your physician so that he/she will be able to monitor your response to Relitil. Follow the physician`s instructions carefully. Side Effects:
Precautions: Please notify your physician if you have heart diseases, palpitations, a recent heart attack, a low blood cell count or other blood disorders. Always inform your physician or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines (all including prescription and non-prescription), herbal products, supplements and vitamins. Tell your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol or drinks that contain caffeine such as coffee, tea and certain soft drinks.
