Dosage & Administration Information:
Patients of four years and older should start with a dosage of 100 mcg. It would be one spray in each nostril once per day. Patients who are not responding to 100 mcg therapy should increase the dosage to two sprays in each nostril once per day or if preferred one spray in each nostril twice per day. As soon as the suitable symptom control is attained, the dose shall be reduced to one spray in each nostril once per day.
Note, that the maximum dosage should not be more than 2 sprays in each nostril. Always follow all the instructions provided by your medical advisor and the leaflet. Bear in mind to shake the bottle gently before use.
How does Flixonase work:
Flixonases active agent fluticasone, is a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid (steroid). Corticosteroids are hormones which are naturally produced by the adrenal glands and which inhibit many important functions, such as control of inflammatory responses.
Side Effects:
Drugs can have possible side effects in various ways on the patient. The following adverse reactions might occur during the administration of Flixonase. Note that it is not necessary that you will experience those side effects while using this medicine.
- Bleeding Nose
- Headache
- Dryness and irritation of throat and nose
- Unpleasant taste and smell
- Allergic reactions such as narrowing of the airways
- Swelling of throat and tongue
- Swelling of the lips
- Itchy blistering rash
Precautions:
The drug is only designed for the administration into the nose and should not be administered by mouth. It is important to avoid contact of the spray with your eyes. In case your symptoms should continue for more than seven days you should consider seeking medical assistance from your doctor.
This medicine should not be used continuously for longer than three months without consulting a doctor.

Flixonase, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have an infection in the nose or in case you have a hypersensitivity to fluticasone.
