What is Ciplactin (Cyproheptadine) used for?

Ciplactin (Cyproheptadine) is an antihistamine that provides relief of seasonal and nonseasonal allergy symptoms such as watery and itchy eyes, runny nose and sneezing. It is also used to relieve itching and hives due to some skin conditions. Ciplactin (Cyproheptadine) may also be used for a hormone disorder, sexual function problems due to certain drugs, and eating disorders.

How should I use Ciplactin (Cyproheptadine)?

Take Ciplactin (Cyproheptadine) at the same time(s) each day for best results. Always swallow tablets whole and wash down with plenty of water. Do not dissolve the tablet in water or crush, split, or chew it.

Ciplactin (Cyproheptadine) is not suitable for use by very young children and should be used with caution by any patients under the age of 16. Consult your doctor for more information.

This medication is not safe for use by nursing mothers, and is usually not recommended for pregnant women.

As it can cause dizziness and/or drowsiness, avoid driving or operating any other heavy machinery until you know how your body reacts to the medication.
